What Is It?
This Filorga non-invasive formula used to prepare and balance the skin before a chemical peeling treatment. It removes any residual makeup and impurities from the skin, and gently reduces the pH to a level suitable for the main application of a chemical peel. With its priming effect, it is conditions the skin and exposes the pores, ensuring maximum absorption and performance during the main peeling operation.
A variety of chemical peels may be used after this treatment, including those used to treat acne, photoaging, hyperpigmentation, and wrinkles.
Ingredients
This formula contains gluconolactone, phenoxyethanol, sodium methylparaben, and water (pH 4).
Ingredients Information
Gluconolactone, a polyhydroxy acid (PHA), is the main active component in this pre-peel solution. It is an essential step in any peeling treatment, as it allows the chemical peel to penetrate into the skin. Additionally, its metal chelating and antioxidant properties scavenge free radicals and provide protection to the skin from extreme UV radiation.
In comparison to AHA, gluconolactone’s exfoliating activity is much more gentle. This makes it suitable for both mature and sensitive skin, as it does not cause intense irritation. When applied to the skin, this PHA encourages the gradual removal of dead skin cells and thereby stimulates the growth of new skin cells, which helps to fill wrinkles, diminish acne, reduce hyperpigmentation, and treat other problems. Gluconolactone is also a humectant, meaning that it can hold moisture in the skin and help to maintain dermal health.
In this formula, water (pH 4) acts as a neutralizer for the skin’s absorption of the peel. Meanwhile, both phenoxyethanol and sodium methylparaben act as preservatives for the solution.
How To Use It
Patients are advised to remove any make up prior to the application. Using a cotton pad, compress it or a brush, spread the peel solution uniformly onto the patient’s entire face—except for the eye area and mucous membranes. This will clear away any excess or stubborn residues. You may apply successive layers of the solution to ensure full coverage. Allow the solution to sit on the skin for 3 minutes for maximum absorption. Next, proceed with a Filorga peel or any other suitable chemical peel, and neutralize it using Filorga Post Peel.
When To Use It
This primer is intended for use before a chemical peeling procedure. The removal of excess impurities and the exposure of pores will ensure a more effective absorption of the solution. It is suitable for all skin types.
How Long Does This Treatment Take?
The solution should be left on the skin for about 3 minutes. Including the use of a Filorga chemical peel and Filorga Post-Peel, the whole process will take 10 minutes. Depending on the patient’s condition, they may need follow-up treatments to achieve their desired results.
